A lovely Spring afternoon
Jeremias and I spent the last few days packing up all of our stuff, and spending more time with the family. We decided to take a break yesterday and head down to the river hoping to be there as it broke apart and floated down, but unfortunately for us it is still holding on. We did manage to get some beautiful light for pictures though. While we were out we did a little bird watching as well. We got some close up pictures of a Storspov (Curlew) and a Tofsvipa (Lapwing). A big part of the transition from winter to spring is sound. The birds make a lot of noise this time of year, and are very busy making little birds. This evening we will be hopping on the night train. When we wake up we’ll be in Uppsala.
Small openings in the ice have formed, but it is holding on.
The Storspov using its long beak to hunt for worms.
This little Tofsvipa was enjoying the sunset.
South bound!
